Day 1: Hanoi – Bonsai Village – Co Le Pagoda – Pham Phao Cathedral (L, D)

In the morning, our car and local guide will pick you up at your hotel, then transfer to Nam Dinh. It takes us 1.5 hours to reach Nam Dinh city. After a short break, we start our Hai Hau trip by visiting Vi Khe bonsai village at first. Vi Khe is the most beautiful bonsai village in Vietnam, each shape of bonsai trees has been contained by a story. For each example, the image of a woman is holding her baby, a dragon is landing, or the Temple of Literature’s symbol is also made by the tree.

The next place is Co Le Pagoda, which was built in about one century ago under the Ly dynasty. Go through the ups and downs of historic flow, belonging to the damage of time, Co Le Pagoda couldn’t maintain the initial architecture. In 1902, the pagoda was rebuilt with Gothic design outside as what we see today.

In lunch-time, we savor the lunch in a local restaurant with the renowned dish – Pho Co. We will then transfer to Hai Hau District. We can see the antique collection of the home host who has more than 30 years in antiquities. His collection consists of a lot of items that are about 300 years old.

In the afternoon, we will cycle around the villages, especially Pham Phao Cathedral and a traditional brass trumpet making village. Additionally, you can visit the House Bridge, built in the 16th century, delve into the daily life of the locals, and find out more about the ancestor worship village. Relish in the traditional music performance of the outstanding artisans and taste the savory dinner with local foods. Overnight in homestay.

Day 2: Thinh Long – Hai Ly Ruined Church – Hanoi (B/ L)

Get up early in the morning and experience the amazing atmosphere in the harbor when the fishermen going back after a night fishing far from shore. They bring many kinds of fishes back and sell directly to buyers. We will then pass the local market and take some food for breakfast.

After breakfast, we stroll along and visit some vegetable garden with the farmers, you can also help the farmers to do something as planting or watering. Enjoy the scrumptious lunch with fresh ingredients, then back to the homestay for checking-out. We spend the afternoon to visit Hai Ly beach and contemplate the beautiful Hai Ly Ruined Church.
