Having existed for over 1500 years, Dinh Cong village has its own unique beauty with a history of jewelry handcraft sculpturing. The jewelry craft of Dinh Cong has appeared in an old saying of Hanoian: "Glossy silk from Yen Thai, pottery from Bat Trang, goldsmiths from Dinh Cong and bronze casting from Ngu Xa” that praises the four most prestigious crafts in Thang Long - Hanoi.

This morning, your personal guide and driver will arrive at your hotel’s lobby at 8.30 AM to pick you up. We will drive along the To Lich River bank in Thanh Tri District, Hanoi to Dinh Cong Jewelry Handicraft Village (approx. 8km from Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi).

Upon arrival in Dinh Cong, our guide will lead you through the alleyways to see the historical imprints on the walls and hear your guide telling stories about the glorious past of where once was the Northern Vietnam’s fine art jewelry trading and manufacturing centre. Not only the oldest, the art was also among the most quintessential craft jobs in Old Thang Long Capital.

We will first go to pay our respect at the local temple worshiping the jewelry-making ancestors (Đền thờ Tổ Nghề Kim Hoàn). Here, we will find a workshop located inside, spend sometimes here and watch the craft of “đậu bạc” being performed by young and passionate local silversmiths - winding thin silver strings to make up shapes, patterns and delicate details on silver products. The workshop was opened by artisan Quach Tuan Anh to keep this traditional craft alive, introducing the cultural beauty of Vietnam into each piece of silver being produced.
